Tutorial 1 : Starting with Android Studio

Android Studio is a brand new Integrated Development Environment (IDE) for Android platform. It provides some new features and improvements over Eclipse ADT. Android Studio offers:
  • Flexible Gradle-based build system.
  • Build variants and multiple APK generation.
  • Expanded template support for Google Services.
  • Rich layout editor with support for theme editing.
  • ProGuard and app-signing capabilities.
  • Lint tools to catch performance, usability, version compatibility and other problems.
  • Built-in support for Google Cloud Platform, making it easy to integrated Google Cloud Messaging and App Engine.
From now, this Android IDE is available for download on Windows, Mac OS X and Linux. You can download this IDE at here.

I installed the Android IDE in Linux OS and have nice user experience for it . The GUI view of Android IDE is shown as Figure 1.1.
